Diary of My Makeover Story - Page 3
DAY 3: The Makeover
So it's here the big day... Jessica and I start the day off
pretty early at Avanti Salon in Marlboro. So I guess the question
comes in as to what we are expecting... Jessica wants a cut
and look that can still be maintained curly... I on the otherhand
am up for anything, the more daring the better!
Jessica and I are separated from the start and every attempt
(very successfully, although I tried peeking many times) is
made for us not to see each other. We get the works done -
color, cut, (scalp massage), manicure and makeup. Everyone
at the salon is wonderful (pretty scary how attractive everyone
is too!).
Once everything is done (which is pretty late in the day -
actually we're pretty late for our event)... wow we look like
we're going to a movie premier. We must smile for the camera
a few last times, a few more questions, a few more spins and
then we reveal the look to each other. I won't go into details
and let you see for yourself.
So
what do we think? (HONESTLY?). They didn't do drastically
different looks, which we would have liked (Jessica got some
great highlights and I went back to a cut I had just recently
grown out and got rid of that blonde stuff). BUT the overall
look from head to toe was just great. Jessica looked amazing
wearing a tight-fitting dress (which she never wears) and
I, uhhhhh looked like Cleopatra! :)
Off we went to Nova
Terra, a latin restaurant in New Brunswick for Jessica's
Bon Voyage party. We were greeted by over 70 friends and family
who came out to say goodbye and of course, get on TV!
At the end of the experience, Jessica and I were thrilled
to have spent so much quality time before her departure, to
do such a bold thing for television and had a blast. We were
sad to let go of "our crew" but I guess it's not
always good to have every scene of your life recorded. Hope
you enjoyed my Makeover Diary... you can look for the show
on TLC on October 22 at 12noon! Set
a reminder and see story details from TLC.

Special Thanks:
To "our crew" - Katie, Erin, David, Boris and
Sam - you were great to work with, without you we wouldn't
have had so much fun! For all the businesses we visited: Nelson
Marina we had a great experience sailing, can't wait to do
it again (Gordon & the crew); Nove Boutique - Ron &
Larry for dressing us up like Barbie dolls; Avanti Salon -
all the talented hands that touched our heads and faces; Nova
Tera - Ben for having everything run smoothly and offering
your facility; and everyone else that I forgot! MUAH!
