Hot Oil Treatments
My long hair is brittle and dry and I would like to use a hot oil treatment or deep conditioner on it. There are so many out there and I don't know which will be effective. Can you suggest one that will work and is also modestly priced?

The best products are the ones used by professionals. Ask your stylist if you can buy a dozen (each one is one application). You apply on damp hair cover the hair with a hot towel and time it for 15 min. and then rinse. Repeat once a week for as long as it takes to get your hair back to normal, then use it once a month to maintain the hair's proper protein level.

Hot oil treatments off the shelf don't do anything, marketing and advertising is the only reason why these products are still on the market. Basically it's vegetable oil like Mazola which coats the hair and gives you the feeling of smooth hair but when you shampoo again your hair is back to the same level and not going to get any better.
