Getting Around
Need to get off campus but don't know exactly how without
some wheels... Let us be your guide. Luckily for you the Newark
Area is very connected.
CITY LIFE
- NYC: NJ Transit Trains from
Newark Penn Station go directly to NY Penn Station or you
can take the PATH
from Newark, which is cheaper.
- Hoboken: Take the PATH
to Exchange Place. At Exchange Place you will switch to
another PATH Train this time the one that goes to Hoboken.
- Philly: Take the Northeast
Corridor NJ Transit Train to Trenton. In Trenton transfer
to the SEPTA
R3 which will take you to the 30th Street or Suburban
Street Stations.
NEWARK ERRANDS & DINING
- "The Loop" is the fast and convenient
way to discover all that Newark has to offer: linking Newark
Penn Station, and the Broad Street Station to NJPAC, the
Newark Museum, the New Jersey Historical Society and the
Newark Public Library. "The Loop" shuttle is also perfect
for running errands, shopping or sampling international
cuisine at one of the many restaurants located in the Downtown/Arts
or historic Ironbound District.
WEEK DAY SERVICE Monday - Friday Every 10 minutes between
Every 12 minutes between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. 12:30 p.m.

Shuttle Stops The shuttle bus stops will be easily identified
by highly visible signs with the shuttle colors and logos.
The fare is moderately priced at $1.00 (exact fare).
- The Newark City Subway is a vital
link to educational and cultural destinations within Newark.
This system, will feature new light rail vehicles and new
stations in 2001, connects to Newark's Penn Station.
SHOPPING
- Secaucus: Take Bus
#78 from Newark Penn Station to Secaucus Shopping Area
stopping at Harmon Meadows & Harmon Cove. Cost: $1.90
(exact fare). Time: less than 1 hour.
- Jersey Gardens/IKEA: Take Bus
#40 from Newark Penn Station to Jersey Gardens Mall
& IKEA. Cost: $1.55 (exact fare). Time: approx 1/2 hour.
