Baltimore: Getting Around

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

  • The Mass Transit Administration (MTA) operates bus, Metro, Light Rail and MARC train service. For fares and schedules, call (410) 539-5000.

  • By Car
Most of Baltimore’s main streets are one-way. When driving, look for blue and green trailblazer signs that indicate attractions and areas of interest.

  • By Water
Ed Kane’s Water Taxi Fleet (800/658-8947 or 410/563-3901) has been family-owned and-operated for 25 years. This world-class transportation system, with a fleet of 14 boats, operates continuous service to over 35 attractions. Buy your all-day, unlimited use “Letter of Marque” Ticket on board any blue and white Water Taxi, and take advantage of dozens of discounts. Ask about specials for groups.

  • Trains
MARC (410/539-5000) commuter trains operate weekdays along the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., corridor.

AMTRAK (800/872-7245) trains run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, connecting Baltimore to many major cities in the Northeast corridor, including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York.
